Privacy Policy
Short version: Lot & Wire has no accounts and no database. Your plans and projects stay on your device. To find your lot, the address you type goes to public map and parcel services. We don't sell anything about you.
What stays on your device
- Site plans, floor plans and plant lists you upload. They're read by your browser and never sent to us.
- Your project: house position, devices, notes and settings. It's kept in your browser's local storage while you work, and in the project file you save with Save.
- Reports you export (PDF, PNG, CSV). They're created in your browser and saved to your computer.
- The optional editor name you enter ("Who's editing"). It's stored in your browser and in your saved project file.
To clear it, delete your project files and clear this site's data in your browser settings.
What is sent to third-party services, and why
These services are contacted directly by your browser, only when you use the related feature:
- Address lookup: the address you type goes to OpenStreetMap Nominatim and Esri's ArcGIS geocoder to find its location.
- Maps: map tiles for the area you view are loaded from Esri (satellite imagery) and OpenStreetMap.
- Lot lines: lot coordinates are sent to the Texas statewide parcel service (TxGIO) and, in Georgetown, TX, the City of Georgetown's public GIS.
- Time zone: lot coordinates go to timeapi.io to set the correct sun times.
- PDF reading: when you open a PDF plan, the PDF.js library is downloaded from the cdnjs content network. Your PDF itself is not sent.
These providers receive your IP address, as with any web request, and handle data under their own privacy policies.
Hosting and basic logs
The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical request data (IP address, browser type, pages requested) to deliver and secure the site. If we turn on visitor statistics, we'll use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies or track you across sites. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
If you email support@lotandwire.com, we receive your email address and message. We use them only to reply, and we don't add you to any mailing list.
Tips
If you choose to send a voluntary tip through a third-party platform, that platform processes your payment and shares limited details with us, such as your name or the message you leave. We never see your card number.
Children
The Service is meant for adults planning a home and isn't directed to children under 13.
